Rangeela! A south-asian dance party

Category: Society & Culture
Duration: 01:04:00

Description: Mandy Goodhandy and Todd Klinck chat with several of the young men who have produced a very successful party series at their nightclub "Club120" in Toronto. Rangeela is described as "Canada's Biggest Queer South Asian Event" and for Valentine's Day this year, DJ Deep is not only spinning Bollywood and Bhangra, but for the first time he will be also introducing Tamil and Arabic beats. (Event is happening Friday Feb 15, 2013 at 120 Church Street, south of Richmond, Toronto, Canada) Rangeela is created and run by a collective of amazing, generously spirited boys, who simply wanted to create a fun queer party celebrating south asian music and culture. The party always benefits a different charity, (it has raised over $7000 in the past 2 years) and of course it is open to all people. And it's a lot of f***ing fun! We look forward to chatting with some of the boys on the show today, and hearing about the party and about their experiences being queer and south asian in Canada.  THE FACEBOOK EVENT PAGE FOR FEB 15
