My guest on the today’s podcast is a dear friend whom I have known for almost 10 years. Iaax Page grew up in Western Mexico, but his heart is in Cancun and the Riviera Maya. Iaax first came to Cancun to visit his father when he was just four-years-old. He says it was mostly jungle at the time. He would take long rides with his father, mesmerized by the lagoon. Something drew him to this area. He says it was like he was under a spell. At 14, he moved to the area, and has been here ever since. After going to college to become a civil engineer, he started working as a receptionist at a hotel. He found sharing the information about the area with tourists very fulfilling. He made sure to give them the experience they wanted, by asking them what they wanted from their visit. He likes people to see real Mexico. Places like Playa del Carmen and Isla Mujeres give travelers unforgettable, inexpensive experiences. Iaax says Cancun’s quality of customer service is underrated. Going out of your way to take care of tourists has become part of the local culture. His second favorite place is Mexico’s Silicon Valley, Guadalajara. The second largest city in Mexico is, in Iaax’s opinion, as Mexican as it gets. Iaax’s Secret Spots: ● Isla Mujeres — For a relaxing day trip. ● Playa Norte — On Isla Mujeres. Perfect for playing in the ocean. ● Isla Blanca — On Isla Mujeres. A great place to see the stars. ● Puerto Morelos — For an incredible Argentinian restaurant and beautiful houses. ● Akumal — A great place to see the turtles.
