Description:

Steve Moen had a stressful job working in Seattle for Microsoft, before coming to the Riviera Maya. After being hospitalized for stress and anxiety, Steve realized he needed a vacation. He had always wanted to visit the Cancun area, but feared the “Spring Break” crowds. It was then a co-worker told him about Playa del Carmen.

The first thing Steve did after arriving in the laid back, stunningly beautiful Playa was to throw back a shot of tequila, and jump in the ocean. He started feeling like himself again.

It changed Steve’s life. He went back to Seattle, sold all of his belongings, bought a van and headed to Mexico. After a few not-profitable but interesting business ventures, Steve started providing web design services to real estate agencies and dive shops. He now supports the Loco Gringo site.

Steve is passionate about the beauty of the area, and the friends he has made here. During his time off he runs, travels to central Mexico, and watches football and futbol with friends.

Steve’s Special Places:

Rio Lagartos — The area has 400 species of birds and great fishing.

Laguna Chunyaxche — Boat Billed Herons abound on Bird Island.

Punta Laguna — Near Coba, a spiral staircase leads to an amazing cenote.
