Today’s guest, Margo Guenther, is a long-time resident of Tulum. When Margo moved to Tulum there were only about 3,000 people. Today the town is estimated to have 30-40K people and is still growing. Margo is a fan of both the established staple restaurants and the newer progressive eateries. Margo’s Favorite Traditional Places: ● Antojitos la Chiapaneco Tulum — Order the El Pastor! ● Doña Tina’s — Try the Caldo. Doña Tina cooks it up fresh every day. ● El Camellos Jr. — Fish at its finest. You must try the Shrimp Diablo. ● Los Aguachiles — Tacos, Tostadas and Ceviche served in a Northern Mexican style. Margo’s advice has been featured in popular publications and her list is a must-do for New Yorkers visiting the area. Margo’s Favorite New Eatery: ● Primitivo — Located behind the Agua Viva hotel which features an unrivaled bamboo building technique and sweat lodge, Primitivo offers two distinctly different menus. One is from Raw Love, a raw vegan local restaurant and Primitivo’s own menu which includes ribeye tacos on handmade tortillas. ● Juanita Diavola in Coco’s — Fresh pizza and homemade pasta on the beach road.
