My guest this week is an authentic Mexican Chef who shares family recipes with visitors who attend her personalized cooking classes. By opening up her kitchen, Lina is able to live out her passion for cooking while sharing her special gift with others. Lina says that many visitors are confused as to which foods are authentically Mexican. When people ask for fajitas, chili con carne, or chimichangas Lina must politely tell them the foods they are asking for are Tex-Mex. When Lina makes a meal passed down from her grandmother it almost always includes a mole sauce which can include chilis and other sumptuous spices. Lina’s personal favorite is her black mole. When Lina has a day off she visits one of the crystal clear cenotes around Tulum or she works on her hobby of creating her own bags. She reminds visitors that using a reusable bag is a great way to show their love for the environment and biodegradable sunscreen is a must for preserving the pristine cenotes. When Lina has the opportunity to visit a local restaurant, her favorites are: ● Hartwood ● Cetli ● La Zebra ● Mezzanine ● Posada Margherita ● Antojitos La Chiapaneca Thank you to Buy Playa for sponsoring this episode.
