Description:

A kid in Class Using Digital TabletIn this episode, we discuss your kids using the Internet at school. We discuss five things we believe you should know that will help you in deciding whether to allow your kids to use the Internet at school. We discussed Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and Responsible Use Policy (RUP). To view what these can look like, here are a few links.

Acceptable Use Policy examples. This is an example of an AUP. There are examples for different grade levels. http://ses.westport.k12.ct.us/general/acceptable-use-policy

This is a good site for how to write one. https://www.commonsensemedia.org/educators/1to1/aups

Responsible Use Policy example. This will send you to a PDF. http://www.middleriver.k12.mn.us/cms/lib3/MN01001290/Centricity/Domain/106/responsible%20use.pdf

We also discussed a law called CIPA. We know you are curious about this. So, we have included a link to where you can read about it. Read it to fall asleep. https://www.fcc.gov/consumers/guides/childrens-internet-protection-act

Our next episode will be about how to determine if a website is legitimate.
