In this episode of our Out of Programme (OOP) mini-series, we speak with Dr Ricia Gwenter, gastroenterology trainee and Chair of the BSG Trainees Committee. She tell us all about her year on a non-clinical leadership fellowship on the National Medical Director’s Clinical Fellowship Scheme. Seconded to a national NHS organisation, Ricia shares what it’s like to work outside a traditional clinical role, reflecting on the challenges, rewards, and insights gained from leading in a different part of the health system.
