Description: Basalt’s fire department is getting an additional station. It’ll be built on land owned by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). E arlier this month, the BLM granted the Basalt and Rural Fire Protection District a right-of-way to build a new station on a little over two acres on West Sopris Creek Road, southwest of Basalt, toward the base of Mount Sopris, near Prince Creek Road.
