This as Russian state TV shows images of police raids on his home. Also, could it have gone either way? Senegal's president foregoes a run for re-election, but Macky Sall insists his constitutional reform did not bar him from another term. We ask how much of an outlier that makes him among African leaders. Plus, we discuss the limits of France's colourblind attitude to race. Last week at this time, we were listening to Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko boasting how it's thanks to him that Wagner mercenaries halted their march on Moscow and that he convinced Vladimir Putin not to take out Yevgeny Prigozhin. Now the same Lukashenko says Prigozhin has upped and left Belarus. This week, all of Senegal held its breath and waited for Macky Sall to state his intentions. With his main rival sidelined by a sexual assault conviction, Ousmane Sonko warned in a France 24 interview that "there will be no elections in this country if Macky Sall uses judicial tricks to deny my candidacy." But in the end, Sall decided not to run for a third term. Also this week, authorities in the Paris region struck the name of US rights activist Angela Davis from a suburban high school, judging her views on race relations to be too radical. What does this say about France's broader attitude to race and racism, especially in the wake of the police killing of 17-year-old Nahel?
