ABOUT RALPH:

Ralph is the Chief Design Officer for the Stellantis Group. This means that there are 15 brands that he oversees. These include Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Citroën, Dodge, Jeep, Lancia, and Maserati.

 

I would suggest that you go and watch the first series of 'Abstract' on Netflix. It is a series that I keep referring to and I profess to have watched it almost as many times as 'Stepbrothers.'

 

It has had a profound impact on me and the reason that I am going on about it is that Ralph has casually got an episode dedicated solely to him and his work.

 

I have to admit that I was not completely cool in this talk with him. I was fangirling a little, and probably too aware of how insanely valuable his time is.

 

Needless to say, he was incredibly kind and full of wisdom on so many levels.

 

Ralph is an incredible leader that has achieved insane levels of success in, quite literally, record time, and all in the face of adversity.

 

It also needs to be said that you would be hard-pushed to find anyone with a negative word to say about him. Ralph has been vocal in his advocacy of teamwork and he knows that empowering his people results in everyone rising together.

 

I can't really say much else - Ralph is a total anomaly.

I am a South African Designer, Digital Modeller and the host of Crown Unfiltered. I will be talking to a cross section of people that work in the Car Design Industry.

These will include designers, digital and clay modellers, vis artists and colour & material designers. The focus of our conversations will be centered around personal processes and experiences within the business. My aim is to demystify some of the preconceptions about this industry and give people an unadulterated glimpse into the business.
