Description: The nectar of life is concentration on Kṛṣṇa, and Kṛṣṇa is present in His name. So you can trust the process: if you give yourself to full focus on the name, then you’ll become absorbed and attracted. And it’s not difficult. In rajas, the mind says, "I want to go somewhere else. I want to go somewhere else. I want to go somewhere else." And the mind flees to try to find some variety in the material nature. But all varieties come from Kṛṣṇa. Everything is complete in Kṛṣṇa, and if we surrender to that moment in which we just give our mind completely to Kṛṣṇa, then we can be in absorption. We won’t even know what time it is or how long we’ve been chanting. We’ll just be aware of one thing, and that is Kṛṣṇa’s name in the Mahāmantra. So Kṛṣṇa has kindly appeared to us in this form of the Mahāmantra, and He’s given us direct access to Him through this. So, we are reverent and we do the practice—not just chant and think of something else, but chant and only think of the name—and keep bringing our minds back to the name because it will go away. You have to be vigilant to come back to the name and be meditative on the holy name.
