The Seventeenth Word is a commentary on the verses: "We have adorned the earth with attractive things so that We may test people to find out which of them do best, // but We shall reduce all this to barren dust (Qur'an, 18: 7-8)." and "The life of this world is nothing but a game and a distraction… (Qur'an, 6: 32)" It exposes the reality of the world as a means to a higher end that is not worthy of attachment in and of itself.
