Description: A physician-scientist, her groundbreaking work in vascular and lung engineering has made Dr. Niklason a world leader in regenerative medicine. She is a member of the National Academies of Engineering and Medicine. Dr. Niklason is the founder of Humacyte and has served as President and Chief Executive Officer since November 2020 and as a member of the Humacyte Board since 2004. Dr. Niklason holds a Ph.D. in Biophysics from the University of Chicago and an M.D. from the University of Michigan.
