	Description:		James 5:15 says that 'the prayer of faith shall save the sick and the Lord shall raise them up". In John Dowie we see a man who learned the customary prayers for the sick. Lived in a climate where sickness and even death was God's will and preached so from pulpits. When a plague struck his congregation and he had buried 40 members, his pastor's heart cried out: "Where, O where is He Who used to heal His hurting children?" The Holy Spirit caused Acts 10:38 to 'stand before me all filled with light'! He saw clearly that Jesus was the Healer and Satan was the defiler. Immediately called to the bed of a dying girl, Dowie was taught by the Spirit how to pray the prayer of faith. Personally, I like to read and study the lives of people who were 'taught by the Spirit' how to do the Word of God. So many accusations are brought against forms of healing and people who pray for the sick today, but when you have the story of a man who NEVER learned from any human being, only from the Spirit, that is a testimony to be learned from.
