A 7 foot copper wound spear and the Name of Jesus? What kind of combination is that?
If you missed yesterday's broadcast, it is referring to the benefits that cutting a Blood Covenant bring.
When Henry Morton Stanley was looking for David Livingstone in Africa he encountered many war-like tribes. He 'cut the covenant' more than 50 times to gain safe passage through the 'Dark Continent'.
On one such occasion, as a token of the covenant, the chief wanted Stanley's only source of food: his white goat. The chief gave Stanley his 7-foot copper wound spear. Stanley thought he got the worse end of the deal. But he found later that everywhere he went and encountered a new tribe of people, they always submitted to him because of that spear.
When Jesus went back to heaven with His Blood He enacted a Covenant, was given all authority in heaven and earth, and then gave us His Name.
His Name to us is the 7-foot copper wound spear. It will take us through the fire, through the flood and through the legions of hell.
Going on today with this wonderful story: "A right to grace in the hardest place!" |
