2019 Half-way Checkpoint!

Description:

Can you believe we’re almost halfway through the year? Where does the time go? This is a great time to do a little check-in with yourself, and your business: are you on track to hit your goals for the year? Are you consistently making steps to get where you want to be, this year, next year, for the next 5-10?

We should manage our time the same we manage our money: if you aren’t telling your time and money what to do, you will be left scrambling and wonder where it all went! Time, unlike money, is a non-renewable resource, though. Once gone, you cannot get it back. Are you happy with how you’re spending your time? Do you end the day feeling fulfilled and accomplished, or dissatisfied and anxious because you didn’t budget your time correctly?

It can be helpful to establish what your goals are and work backwards from there to reach your goals, so you don’t feel like you’re spending time on things that don’t serve you, and don’t further your goals. If my goal is to spend time getting more sales, but I’m not doing lead-nurturing tasks every day, it’s unlikely I’m going to see the results I’m looking for.

It can be helpful to see where your process isn’t efficient. Sometimes in order to do that, we might need to hire outside help: I can’t see my back, but someone else can! It’s helpful to have more than one set of eyes, to ensure you’re not missing anything. Having an additional perspective is invaluable. That’s why we’re looking into hiring a professional to create an Operations Blueprint for us: Tonya of Cignal Partners creates a custom plan based on your biggest operational concern. For us, it was our sales process: I have sooo many inboxes and one of them is a shared inbox. I’m embarrassed to admit I’ve all too frequently lost a sale because of lack of a quick response time, simply because I didn’t see the email! I’m looking forward to seeing how I can solve this issue so as not to waste valuable incoming leads, and thereby increase our bottom line.

I’m a big believer in delegating as well. My time is valuable and I shouldn’t spend all my time working IN my business, but working ON it. That’s why I recently hired two virtual assistants to help shoulder the workload in our day-to-day operations. NOW I have to learn what tasks to send them, how best to manage them, etc. It’s another learning curve but one I’m excited to be on, because I know it’ll really revolutionize the way Lindsey and I do business! How do you make sure you’re being efficient in your life and business?
