Exodus Chapter 19

Israel comes to camp at Mount Sinai                                                 V. 1-2

What had God told Moses at the burning bush they would do when they got out of Egypt?                                                             Exodus 3:12

God’s special call on Israel                                                                     V. 3-9

In verse 5 He calls this people whom He has delivered based on His unconditional covenant with Abraham to receive and _____________ His covenant commands.

They were to be a kingdom of priests – Even though Israel would receive a priesthood to administer the Tabernacle sacrifices, they were all to ___________________ God to the nations

They were to be a holy nation – The word holy means to be set apart – God was entering in to a special relationship with this nation that was to make other nations want to __________________ God!        I Peter 2:9-10

The first covenant with Israel was the Abrahamic Covenant, and it was and is unconditional. God has a special purpose for Israel as a whole that is literal, unconditional and eternal.

This Mosaic Covenant is a conditional covenant, with blessings for obedience, and curses for disobedience. Failure to obey it by individuals and the nation won’t annul the Abrahamic Covenant, but comes with serious ___________________.
