Episode 1 - Why 99? In 2019 on Adam's other pod, The Greatest Season That Was, they made a 12-part series exploring whether the 1999 Men's ODI World Cup stacked up as the most interesting global tournament ever held. With Dan Brettig (The Age) and Shannon Gill (Code Sports), they had the pleasure of talking with many of the key players and administrators from seven weeks that packed a punch. On the basis that we're pretty sure you're going to really enjoy what was pulled together back then, we are re-releasing World Cup '99 on The Final Word feed as the current competition reaches its business end. But before we get into the interviews, the first of which will drop Friday, a framing discussion that should help jog the memory. Enjoy.
