In this clip I go over installation of SQL Server 2017. It was released on August, 2017.
Key findings:
- SSRS / SQL Reporting Services have to be installed separately in addition to SSMS aka SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Server Data Tools
- Current trend is to have Power BI to succeed SSRS. SSRS will stay around for a while though.
- More Support for DMVs to monitor tempdb databases
- Support for Graph Databases using tsql-like syntaxes to create edges, and nodes so that matching queries can be ran against them
-memory optimized tables have now more support in system stored procedures such as sp_spaceused, sp_rename
