Raza Ali Abidi, A famous Pakistani Journalist, broadcaster and author, born on 30th December 1935 at Rourkee, India. Moved to Karachi with his family in 1950, and then migrated to London and worked for the BBC (Urdu) from 1972 till 1996 (20080. He is best known for his radio documentaries on the Grand Trunk Road (Jernaili Sadak) and the Indus River (Sher Darya), Through the Railways (Rail Kahani) and In search of rare books (Kutub Khana).
His published works include several collections of cultural essays and short stories. He has worked with the BBC Urdu Service and retired in 1996. One of them is about the Grant trunk Road, titled “jernaili Sadak” and the other, his travelogue along the banks of the Indus river
