Obviously the big story of the week is by the end of it we will be call the Donald, The President. Yes, America will officially air it’s “jumping the Shark” episode this Friday as Donald Trump is sworn in as the 45th president of the United States. The most insane election ever was followed up with the most insane lame duck period fill with controversial cabinet picks, and golden showers, and that was just the incoming president. The outgoing president took time away from the golf course to pat himself on the back in his last European tour, gave Joe Biden a participation trophy and set as many fires as he possibly could, dooming Trump to almost certain failure. So Quade let’s unpack some of that.

 

The Obama Administration ended 2016 by kicking Israel squarely, and forcefully in the nuts. First they pushed, behind the scenes to get a UN vote condemning Israeli settlements, and then publicly announced that the US will be abstaining from the vote. In doing this the vote is all but sure to go through. The icing on the cake though had to be the idiot cousin of Mr. Ed, John Kerry. In his parting speech as Secretary of State he told Israel if you want a 1 state solution you can either be Jewish or Democratic not both.

Without the US using it’s veto power the resolution did pass, and this week Senators Ted Cruz, and Lindsey Graham have introduced a bill to defund the UN.

Another one of the Obama shockers was the immediate end to the “wet foot dry foot” policy for Cubans seeking asylum from murderous Castro regime.

And Just Yesterday it was announced that Chelsea Manning, formally known as Brad Manning will have her 30 year sentences commuted, and will be free in May of 2017. For those that don’t remember Manning was the one that leaked the intelligence to Wikileaks about unethical military actions. That is back when the right hated Julian Assange, and the left held him up as the model of journalism, just the bravest man ever.

 

In the mist of fake news about golden showers, and Moscow hookers, Trump did spit out a policy fact late last week that got little attention, but I feel deserves more. He reiterated his promise that everyone will have health insurance under his plan… paid for by the government.
