Hosts Scott Mitchell and Jason Buck dive into why Colin Kapernick is having troubles finding a job. They first talk about the national protest he did by kneeling during the national anthem. Both Scott and Jason do not agree with the time and place of the protest. Jason says you sign a contract in the NFL saying you will not do anything to harm your team or the league and he believes Kaepernick did that by kneeling. They both talk about how free speech is good and is absolutely wonderful in our country. However, Scott also makes the point that this is your job. Not many in the nation can use their job as a platform for their political beliefs. It distracts from the job you need to do on the football field and that hurts your teammates and the organization to create distractions. Scott then tells a story of something funny he tried to do which created a big distraction with the team and he says it hurt his squad. He said the joke he played got sent to ESPN and started getting covered everywhere. He thought this was only going to affect him and so he thinks maybe Kapernick was a naieve in thinking what it would do. |
