I lived in foster care until I was adopted at nine-years-old,” Pekitta says. “Armed with faith, determination and a strong belief in a much higher power than myself, I embarked on a journey to the truth. After 35 years of searching, DNA led me to find my biological father, mother and a host of siblings. I had a few ups and downs along the way.
