Description: Dale Jamieson is a Professor of Philosophy and Environmental Studies at NYU, as well as Chair of the Environmental Studies Department. He is also Affiliated Professor of Law at NYU Law, and the Director of the Animal Studies Initiative. In his 2014 book, "Reason in a Dark Time: Why The Struggle Against Climate Change Failed and What it Means for our Future," Jamieson argues that climate change fundamentally challenges the ‘commonsense morality’ that we evolved, and thus requires that we expand our ethical imaginations to deal with this unprecedented problem. Most recently, he co-wrote a book of fictional short stories with Bonnie Nadzam in 2015 called "Love in the Anthropocence."
