The number one call that most cops are afraid to answer is a domestic dispute. Why? Because that's when people are at their most vulnerable, emotional, and unpredictable. Why do relationships seem to make some act so crazy? If we had the answer, we wouldn't be having this conversation. But one thing we do know is that violence is not the way to solve your problems. Conflict resolution, negotiation, making deals, and compromise are all about meeting in the middle, finding some kind of common ground, and working from there. When should the system get involved in family matters, and when is it the responsibility of the family and the community. It’s all about conversation. And that’s what we do here.
