About John Pence John Pence graduated from Morehead State University with a bachelor's degree in 1977, with majors in English and Political Science, and received a law degree (J.D.) from the University of Kentucky in 1980. Mr. Pence served as legal counsel at the Kentucky Division of Securities from 1981-84, and as a staff attorney at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission from 1984-85. Mr. Pence practiced law in Frankfort, Kentucky, from 1985-88, and in Cincinnati, Ohio, from 1988-2002. While practicing law in Cincinnati, Mr. Pence dedicated numerous hours of pro bono service to AiG, and from 1999-2002, served on AiG's board of directors. In 2002, Mr. Pence joined the AiG staff as General Counsel, Director of Planned Giving Services. He also serves as Corporate Secretary and General Counsel to the board.
