Chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear: WMDs

Description:

While you might think of Weapons of Mass Destruction or WMDs as something soldiers look for overseas, the reality is, they are used right here in the United States and even in the FBI Salt Lake City Division, which covers Utah, Idaho and Montana. Supervisory Special Agent Brett Handy walks FBI Confidential host Becky Bruce through the use of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear weapons that the bureau tries to prevent, as well as the training agents are required to get in order to investigate these cases. After all, their lives could very well be at risk if they handle anthrax, sarin, ricin produced in Riverton, Utah, and discovered in Las Vegas, or other hazardous substances in the wrong way. That's why they treat every case as though it could be the worst case even though most turn out to be a hoax. And it turns out you can help: the FBI partners with local business owners and employees to know what kinds of purchases should raise red flags and prompt a call to the FBI. If you see suspicious activity, please call the FBI at 855-TELL-FBI (855-835-5324).
