Description: There are many people who love listening to stories where the salvation of Hashem is clear and apparent. They think to themselves, wow Hashem is amazing, look how He can help a person in the most difficult of times. Look at the way He brings salvation. Look how quickly it comes in a way that is least expected. They then think to themselves, Hashem could also help us in our times of need, and we are so fortunate to have Him available to us at every moment of life. There are others, however, who become discouraged from hearing stories like this. They think to themselves, why do these things never happen to us? It seems like everyone else always gets what they need but we never do. They might even say, look how easy it is for Hashem to help people, yet He still doesn’t help us. These people must realize, the only reason they are not being given what they want is because Hashem knows it’s best for them not to have it at this time. How could that be? They might say. How could not having health be the best, or how could not having a child be the best, or how could not being married be the best? The answer is because every single person has a different role to fulfill in this world and Hashem is the only One who knows that role and He guides each person accordingly. Yes, it is easy for Hashem to just give us what we want but if giving it to us would mean that it would cause us to be lacking in the fulfillment of our purpose here, then He’s not just going to give it. However, just because something was not good for us to have until today, it doesn’t mean that it won’t be good to have going forward, and therefore we always continue to pray and hope for what we want. Circumstances do change based on our prayers, circumstances do change based on our deeds and that is why tefila and ma’asim tovim are the best ways we can change outcomes. Hearing a story of someone else having a yeshua should never discourage a person, it should only strengthen him to realize how much Hashem is with us. He knows what we are going through. He helps people at the right times, and when it’s the right time for us, He’ll help us as well. Complaining or feeling sorry for ourselves will not help in any way. Becoming lax in the observance of a mitzvah will only do damage. Hashem is the only address for salvation, and it is always in our best interest to strengthen ourselves in our relationship with Him. Until we do receive what we want, we should take advantage of the opportunity to pray with emotion. Each tefila made with sincerity is a great mitzvah that will stand in our accounts for all eternity. We should utilize the opportunity to have emunah in Hashem. We should utilize the opportunity to do more good deeds. Each good deed we do will stay with us forever. The pasuk tells us שיחו בכל נפלאותיו – we are supposed to speak about all of the times that Hashem does wonders and miracles, because it is supposed to give people chizuk and bring them closer to Him, and if that is not happening, then we need to ask for more guidance on how to view what we are going through. Everything Hashem does is with love and mercy. He is only interested in our wellbeing. Only He knows what our purpose is here, and He is always guiding us to give us the best opportunity to fulfill that purpose, and thereby be able to enjoy an eternity of bliss.
