Primary education was one of the areas that was affected negatively by the COVID19 pandemic. India saw some of the harshest lockdowns and schools were the first to close and last to open leading to huge learning losses. As with most other disasters, this loss was pronounced in lower SECs and girls. The state of TN has introduced a programme called Illam Thedi Kalvi (ITK) to help recover learning losses.
