Abdullah bin Masood asked the Prophet (S), “What does Allah love the most? ”

He replied, “Prayer on its earliest time.”

“Then what?”

“Being loving and courteous with the parents, doing things to please them.”

“Then what?”

“Striving in the path of Allah.”

Abdullah said, “Had I asked for more, he would have told me more.”

عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ قَالَ الصَّلَاةُ عَلَى وَقْتِهَا قَالَ ثُمَّ أَيٌّ قَالَ ثُمَّ بِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ قَالَ ثُمَّ أَيٌّ قَالَ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي بِهِنَّ وَلَوْ اسْتَزَدْتُهُ لَزَادَنِي
