Sutter Health Physical Access Compliant Program

Bill Zellmer is the in-house accessibility expert managing the accessibility upgrades throughout Sutter s 24 hospitals and 200+ medical office buildings. Bill joined Sutter Health in 2014 and has many years experience as a healthcare architect and plan reviewer. Bill worked 14 years in the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development, the primary entity that regulates healthcare facilities in California. Bill is a Certified Access Specialist (CASp) and is a California Licensed Architect. Bill is also Past President for CASI (Certifed Access Specialist Institute)

Kaylan Dunlap has served as Evan Terry Associates primary Healthcare Accessibility Specialist for fourteen years. She is a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant with over nine years of healthcare experience in the outpatient rehabilitation, acute care, and long-term care settings where she was involved with patient care and the development and implementation of programs for breast cancer patients and student-athletes. Her responsibilities with ETA have included project management, surveying facilities to identify barriers, preparing reports, quality assurance, project coordination, surveyor training, survey form development, and seminars for organizations such as Sutter Health, Kaiser Permanente, Boston Medical Center, Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women s Hospital, The Congressional Office of Compliance, The Architect of the Capitol, National Vision (America s Best), CVS, Sears/Kmart, Pacific Gas & Electric, J. Paul Getty Museums, and other clients who wish to remain anonymous. She has also performed detailed policy analysis for a large public entity, including a review of existing policies and procedures, modification of existing policies and procedures; creation of new policies and procedures; and making recommendations to the client regarding implementation and training of all policies and procedures. Kaylan serves as the Senior Technical Director overseeing the development and acceptance of content on www.CORADA.com, the Comprehensive Online Resource for the ADA powered by Evan Terry Associates. In that role, she coordinates the selection and assignment of almost 3,000 keywords and relevant sections of the referenced standards and regulations to over 20,000 discrete sections of regulations, standards, technical assistance documents, research documents, etc. She has also evaluated over 3,000 products that in some way improve access for people with disabilities. Kaylan became a Certified Access Specialist (CASp) in the State of California in 2011 and served on the U.S. Access Board s Advisory Committee on Standards for Medical Diagnostic Equipment. She is a Special Programs Chair and member of the Board of Directors of the Certified Access Specialist Institute and a Subject Matter Expert for the California Department of State Architect.
