​Valerie​ ​Jarrett was the longest-serving senior adviser to President Barack Obama. She oversaw the Offices of Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs and chaired the White House Council on Women and Girls. She currently is a board member of an organization that First Lady Michelle Obama co-chairs, called When We All Vote. This organization strives to increase civic engagement among the younger generation. She is also the author of "Finding My Voice: My Journey to the West Wing and the Path Forward."
