Christine should be an absurd movie about a killer car, but what makes this film fantastic is the relationship between Arnie and the titular, Christine. It has all the hallmarks of an abusive and manipulative relationship built on jealousy, co-dependence, and vehicular manslaughter. John Carpenter masterfully puts Stephen King's twisted story to screen in a beautifully shot and highly engaging piece of classic cinema.
