Always selective in his roles, Wincott became more choosy as the years went by appearing to go on hiatus after 2017. In 2022, he reappeared after a 5-year break in Jordan Peele's sci-fi horror blockbuster Nope as cryptic, disaffected cinematographer Antlers Holst.
