Description:

Today we’re speaking with Rabia De Lande Long she is the co founder of The Monarchs Collective, a business launched to change the complexion of business by making it easier to discover, develop and promote female and BIPOC talent on corporate boards and senior leadership.

Topics discussed include:

  • Why diversity of corporate boards and senior management is not just good social policy, but also good business.
  • How the founders personal board experience, operational leadership experience and deep consulting background has informed their thinking and was the crucible for this venture.
  • Why unlocking the business benefits of diversity involve cultural change of existing board members and leadership, and not just adding diverse voices.
  • Why the addition of two diverse voices is exponentially more effective than just adding one.
  • Why the structural and behavioral changes go beyond addressing unconscious bias.

Rabia De Lande Long works at the intersection of business strategy, organizational effectiveness, and leadership. She collaborates closely with her clients to improve business outcomes by aligning strategy, structure, culture, and leadership at the company, team, and executive levels. The Monarchs Collective launched to change the complexion of business by making it easier to discover, develop, and promote female and BIPOC talent on corporate boards and senior leadership. It helps to match exceptional women and people of color with organizations that genuinely seek to diversify and improve representation in their organizations.

Founded by Debra Lee and Rabia de Lande Long, the firm delivers value from initial consultations by drawing on their collective experience of running businesses, serving on boards, and consulting with and coaching leaders across industries around the world.

The Monarchs Collective helps corporate clients by efficiently and effectively identifying and onboarding extraordinary female and BIPOC talent to executive ranks and boards of directors.  They work with executives to equip them with the leadership skills, savvy, and presence required to successfully fulfill board positions and thrive in senior executive roles.

Their process holistically evaluates and identifies opportunities to optimize talent and they partner with clients to implement systemic improvements to people, processes, and behaviors to successfully integrate and realize the maximum benefit from their more diverse team.
