Description: Currently, Cassie Soliday is a Script Coordinator at Wild Canary Animation, but she doesn’t stop there. She has her own podcast called The Ink and Paint Girls Podcast where they celebrate the careers and histories of women working in the Animation industry and explore representation on-screen and behind the scenes. That’s not where it ends. She keeps herself incredibly busy by hosting The Jammiest Bits of Jam Storytelling Podcast and helping out at The Animation Network as the Newsletter Editor. She has three comics: Cassie shares with us, her story of how she got started. She knew right away from watching Nightmare Before Christmas and Toy Story that she wanted to be an animator. After going to Columbia college, she quickly realized that CG was not for her and she pursued traditional animation. This landed her an internship at Nickelodeon! She shares her experience of moving blindly to L.A. and working at Nickelodeon, being hopeful of getting hired based off her internship and the disappointment and results of not getting hired. But that’s ok, she went to visit Disney Land for the first time and worked her way into a job as a cashier there. This gave her access to the manager of the sketch artists which allowed her to switch to become a sketch artist in “Off The Page” at California Adventure.
