Description: What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas. We’re back from Adobe Max and we have Jeff aka Mind1TV joining the guys to talk about what happened. From Ft. Wayne, Indiana, which trips Charlie out, Jeff (also known as Mind1tv) is a creative that does websites, design and is an Adobe officianado. Carlos and Jeff both went to Adobe Max this past week and we touch on the highlights. The projection mapping technology they used in their opening area was most impressive with smoke, cutout shapes no the wall and interactive movement with the wall. Some of the new updates include: Sensai, Adobe’s smart AI with font recognition, the puppet warp tool now in Illustrator, Adobe Stock image search and object search, XD “Experience Design”, and updates to Photoshop Sketch, a new drawing app for iPad and the Apple Pencil. Photoshop has had major updates, including brush engine and brush panel updates with brush smoothing (like Lazy Nazumi), brush curvature tools, brush sorting/organization with folders, and full integration of Kyle Webster’s brushes! “Project Felix” is now Adobe Dimension CC which debuted and has shown promise for quick product renders and drop designs directly on 3d models with lighting. Adobe has partnered with VRay and Substance, which powers their lighting and rendering capabilities. Adobe Spark has been announced, which is effectively a quick and easy, plug and play design tool geared to design a treat photos and videos taken from your phone. AfterFX has integrated fully with Stock for templates, footage and fx. They’ve integrated 360 VR video capabilities but Charlie thinks it’s a bit gimmicky. You can edit your timeline with your clips surrounding you in a 360 environment, but what we really need is a way to preview a 360 project live while editing it and modifying it. Character Animator is now a standalone software and has become really robust. You can build a character in Photoshop or Illustrator and the facial detection software to animate on the fly or export to AfterFX.
