Description: Mara Weisband is a talented Character Actor, Comedian, and aspiring Voice Over Actor. Although she loves (to visit) small town Tucson, Arizona, where she was raised, Mara thought it would be best to spread her wings and fly a solid 99 miles away from home to earn herself a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Arizona State University. Since graduating she has flown much further. Mara has been studying all forms of comedy including, improv at Upright Citizens Brigade and the Peoples Improv Theater, she has taken writing courses through the Comedy Cellar, and since moving to the Bay Area started studying Musical Improv at Leela and has been working with character/voice coaches to discover the sounds and voices that hide within. It’s a hometown and an education that raised her curiosity about the foibles of the human animal and at the same time, given her means to express what she finds. While living in New York Mara has performed comedy at The Tank in Time Square, Broadway Comedy Club, Dangerfield’s Comedy Club, Greenwich Village Comedy Club, and performed a showcase at the Comedy Cellar. Brand new to the Bay Area she is excited to explore the stages the West Coast has to offer!
