My guest host, Gregg Masters, and Maureen who is the founder of the blog 'Metalsmiths Unite', http://metalsmithsunite.blogspot.com/, will talk about 'social media for the arts in general and metalsmiths in particular. Maureen ‘BZ’ (aka @Cosmos_moon’ on Twitter), earned her BFA, from Tufts University, Medford, MA, and Studio Arts, four year Diploma, from School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston MA, in painting and metalsmithing. Take a close look at a collection of my work and you will find a virtual catalogue of textures, colors and metalsmithing skills. The component/collage based methods I employ in building my pieces allow me to stretch my work’s visual vocabulary between the traditional goldsmithing that I studied during my years in Italy to the more contemporary metalworking I continue to explore here in the US’. Zeppellini adds: ‘By working with many different techniques I am never bored by any of my studio work and the pieces are always fresh and evolving.
