Imagine having a public-facing bank account...one where every transaction is open for public view, comment, & scrutiny. Sound frightening? Today's live episode explores how two brothers think this concept could actually save the world from itself.
Brothers Daniil and David Liberman (https://www.linkedin.com/in/daliberman)are entrepreneurs and angel investors. While studying at college brothers been inspired by the idea of making money transactions transparent, but realized that the idea was ahead of its time and that they needed to garner some business experience first.
From 2005-2011 the brothers founded multiple companies focusing on game development (Sibilant Interactive), animation and social networking (Kanobu). Kanobu became the largest social network for video gamers in Russia and was soon acquired by Rambler. The brothers are early investors in coub.com, knotch.it, futurico.ru, epoxy.tv and other projects and have advisory roles for many Russian-based startups.
Recently David and Daniel started their new San Francisco-based company “FRANK” (http://frank.money/), a banking system providing completely transparent accounts...meaning that any and all data regarding financial transactions will be made publicly available. They believe that such openness will provide a whole new level of trust amongst crowdfunding contributors and non-profit supporters to start, and hope to gain enough momentum to carry their idea up through every facet of business and government agencies. |
