Mitch Harper and Matt Baiamonte discuss this week's Cougar Classic, BYU's dominant win against Texas in 2014. The year before, BYU upset #15 Texas in Provo and traveled to the Longhorns for the second match-up. After a sloppy first half, BYU put on the jets and got the win 41-7. Taysom Hill was excellent again with 3 TD's on the ground including the famous hurdle in the 3rd quarter. After this game, the sky was the limit for that BYU team, but Taysom Hill's injury led to a tough second half and a lot of what-if's for Cougar fans.
Norm Chow Play of the Game Award: Dallen picked Taysom's 30-yard TD run in the 3rd quarter, which put BYU up 13-0 and really turned momentum in BYU's favor. Mitch picks Robertson Daniels' fumble recovery which led to a BYU field goal and gave them an early 6-0 lead. Matt selects Taysom's 65-yard TD run that was called back by Leslie's holding.
Andrew George Underrated Player of the Game Award: Dallen chose Jordan Leslie, who had 7 receptions for 85 yards. Mitch selects Dallin Leavitt, who led BYU in tackles and had a sack in the game. Matt picks Robertson Daniel who had two fumble recoveries. |
