Author Kay Haring talks, “Keith Haring: The Boy Who Just Kept Drawing”; a children’s book about her brother Keith.
In the CelebriTAY podcast, twenty year old actor/artist/musician Taylor Blackwell interviews some of the most talented people in the entertainment industry.
Keith Haring is my favorite artist. I have loved his art for as long as I can remember, but after learning his story, he became my hero. Keith’s short life was dedicated to creating art and helping others. He grew up in Kutztown, PA with his three sisters, Kay, Karen and Kristen.
I had the opportunity to interview his sister Kay, who wrote a children’s book about his life. When I stumbled upon Kay’s book at a museum gift shop, I was thrilled. Young people need to know Keith’s story, and Kay is continuing his work by telling it. I reached out to Kay on a whim, hoping she would do an interview. She generously agreed!
It was wonderful hearing insight on Keith’s life. I felt very close to him during the interview. I have chills just typing about it now.
