Description:

on episode 20 of the Financial Planner Life Podcast your host Sam Oakes talks to Taylor Beavis of Universe Financial Advice.

Taylor is quite unique. At the age of 25, he is running his own directly authorised IFA practice. After speaking to several IFA business owners, he quickly established that client relationships are everything and having ownership of these will ensure that his business grows in value over time. So for Taylor, self-employment was the only option.

His chosen route into the profession was challenged numerous times, being told that he’s too young and perhaps he should cut his teeth as an administrator first. He is extremely pleased he didn’t take this advice and encourages anyone who feels they have the relevant skills to push on into a client facing role.

We also discuss why there is a distinct lack of LGBTQ+ financial planners and why those in the community require a different approach to financial planning.

Other discussions include:

  • Why charity is at the heart of his proposition, and he shares why having an altruistic purpose is so important when running your own business.
  • How he achieved CAS Status in 4 months self-employed - it doesn’t need to be over-complicated.
  • His strategy for generating new clients. (Great tips that anyone can implement.)
  • How PR helped him raise his profile during lockdown.
  • How his clients can keep physically and financially fit by using  ‘Richer Fit’ – great benefit!

a great with lots of postivity and great shares.
