	Description:		In this episode Russell is joined by Dr Rob Watson from Decentered Media (@DecenteredMedia) to look at, among other things, the role that community media plays in strengthening civil society and providing communities with a voice to articulate things that matter to them, rather than what a professional media considers as ‘newsworthy’. They also consider the extent to which community development practitioners need to engage with – or even create their own – community media in order to reduce, what Alan Twelvetrees calls, the “invisibility” of their practice. Russell previously appeared on a Decentered Media episode 23 in which he and Rob reflect on why they started podcasting, the limits of mainstream media and the potential benefits of using a more deliberative and social approach to community and civic development.
