FOLLOW UP - VW ENGINEER SENTENCEDThe first Volkswagen engineer has been sentenced. James Lang pleaded guilty, helped the prosecution and has been handed a 40-month sentence. To read the Autocar article click here. FOLLOW UP - AUDI BOARD RESHUFFLEFour of the seven senior members of the board have been replaced. This has been put down to the scandal. FOLLOW UP - PLATOONING LORRIES IN THE UKThe Government has now stated that ‘self-driving’ trucks will be tested on UK roads in 2018. NEW CAR REGISTRATIONS AUGUST 2017SMMT has released the New Car Registration figures for August 2017. A typically quiet month, due to the new plate in September and holiday period. WORLDWIDE HARMONISED LIGHT VEHICLE TEST PROCEDUREAs of September 1, the new snappily titled fuel efficiency and emission test, Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) came into force. This is meant to address the deficiencies of the previous testing regime. Hopefully, drivers will see closer results to what they achieve from the longer and more intricate test. CHARGING ROUND BRITAIN - ROUND UPFollowing the six days driving around Britain, the chaps have had a chance to collect their thoughts on what they’ve learned from the experience.Also we hear about Alan's nightmare journey home on Sunday.
