Space—and inaction—is as important as taking action and doing stuff.

  • You’ll notice this weekend I didn’t record any podcasts.
  • And you’ll notice I didn’t do my daily emails.
  • Both of these things were deliberate, to create some space in my life.
  • The concept of space in weightlifting (rest)
  • The concept of space in eating healthy (refeed days/cheat days)
  • The body and mind cannot tolerate being under constant pressure forever
  • Eventually, the constant pressure grinds down the ability of your brain to function properly
  • Pressure—Rest—Pressure—Rest—etc.
  • The brain needs space for creativity
  • If it is occupied with doing, it cannot also create at the same time
  • Real creativity only happens when the mind is empty
