Just Jasper, a crackling log fire, the light patter of rain on the window - and a reading of E. Nesbit's "The Mystery of the Semi-Detached" from her 1893 collection "Grim Tales". This bonus episode is part of the ONE PAST MIDNIGHT strand dedicated to stories of ten minutes or less.

Thank you's: Some people have been kind enough to buy me a coffee on Ko-Fi. You may have no idea how thrilling it is to wake up to a notification that someone has bought you a coffee. It is the next best thing to someone making you a cup of coffee. So thank you to Anna, Piers and Hanna for being early champions of the show and for your generosity! You really warmed the cockles of my cold, cold heart. If any listeners feel similarly inclined, here are the links:

Coming up:
I think the next episode will be a slightly longer story (which will take slightly longer to produce): Negotium Perambulans by E.F. Benson. Since travel is still slightly restricted I am hoping to make it the audio equivalent of a summer holiday in sunny Cornwall - only with something dreadful lurking in the shadows. Other stories in the pipeline are "The Yellow Wallpaper", "The Upper Berth", probably some more Lovecraft and M.R. James. Even some Conan-Doyle and H.G. Wells. If you have any suggestions for stories you'd like to hear why not email me: encryptedpod@gmail.com
