Excitement is mounting as we prepare to move into or first house! I’ve been sorting out my crafting materials and rethinking some of my projects.
Knitting
I found some unlabled colourful sock yarn which I had forgotten about. I’ve also been admiring my hand-dyed Spin Monkeys sock yarn and my gorgeous hand-spun from Fondant Fibres. I ripped back my shrug and with the same yarn, cast on “Bonny” from Tin Can Knits “Handmade in the UK” which I have been enjoying leafing through. I’m close to finishing Luca’s jumper, just one and a half sleeves to go!
Craftalong
There were no finalists for the quilting challenge this month but I’ve found a place we can share sewing projects called My Sewing Circle. I joined this month as anightbird and have created a Night Bird sewing circle on there if any of you would be interested.
This months craftalong will run for two months and we’ll be knitting cardigans! I am knitting “Lush”, which is also from Tin Can Knits “Handmade in th UK”. I hope you can join me!
Sewing
I’ve been making project bags based on various designs. This month I made a pleated one. I’ve also made a cutlery roll for picnics from a left over batting cut-off I had. I’m trying to use up my scraps of fabric by making patchwork blankets which is a great way to gain more experience in quilting.
Enjoyment
I’m reading Neil Gaiman’s “Stardust” and basking in the afterglow of Game of Thrones season 4! |
