The trick is to work on your marriage outside of the kids so that you have a strong enough foundation to weather the storms that will inevitably come as life unfolds. The greatest thing you can do for your marriage is to communicate effectively in an effort to be on the same page as much as possible. And when you can’t seem to get on the same page, be willing to accept the things you can’t change. Agree to disagree. It’s perfectly fine hold different perspectives as long as you respect one another. In this podcast we discuss it all, and even find ourselves wanting more time because there’s so much to say on the subject. It’s important you protect your marriage in all areas of your life so that your blended family has a strong corner stone; you will need it. And when you feel unevenly yoked with your spouse because there’s been a power transfer in regards to the children, again, work it out, accept what you can’t control, but don’t continue to fight a losing battle or you may find one day you lose your marriage.
