On this episode we dive into how we discuss blended family topics with our children. Kids are curious and are forever trying to make sense of their reality. They want to know why their parents got divorced, and they will continue to seek out an answer until something true and concrete sticks. We discuss what to say, what to omit and why. Children also get caught in the crossfire of co-parenting and therefore are so often they let in on issues parents are having with one another because it directly involves and effects them. There are ways to go about letting the kids in on the happenings without be destructive and harmful. One thing to always remember is to be truthful and speak that truth in love and in regard to the best interest of the children involved. We hope this episode speaks into how you discuss life with your own children. Enjoy!

Our Purpose: Why is talking about blended families and life in general important? Because we believe that we can do better than what statistics say about second marriages lasting, about blending families making it, that’s why! A 70% divorce rate statistic for remarriages with children is simply unacceptable! Spreading life lessons, passing along wisdom gained from experience and bringing to light what is often happily left in the dark to hide, is how we all can learn to be better, to do better the second time around (in a #blendedfamily many lives depend on it). Together we can avoid costly mistakes that will end in the demise of our precious families. -Blended Life
